VENUE HIGHLIGHT & CREATIVE PARTNER: The Robin Theatre
The Robin Theatre, REO Town’s eclectic listening room and event space, has been a creative partner to the Capital City Film Festival for years. As one of the brightest and liveliest spots on Washington Ave, The Robin hosts multiple events weekly. The theatre is a cultural hub and a beautiful third space — a place where people can socialize outside of their home or work — for the Lansing community. The festival is proud to call The Robin, and its owners Dylan Rogers and Jeana-Dee Allen, friends and one of Capital City Film Festival’s homes.
In collaboration with the festival, The Robin is co-curating, “Growth Vol. 3” and “Whorled” for this year’s festival. Growth Vol. 3 is a soulful variety show starring poet and hip-hop educator Jahshua Smith along with a cast of talented friends.
Whorled transports audiences around the globe with fresh interpretations of re-imagined Celtic, bluegrass, and jazz influences. Whorled is guitarist and digeridooist Thom Jayne, fiddler and bodhrán player Keala Venema, and accordionist Mariko Venema.
The Robin Theatre is a historic, 100+ year old building located in REO Town at 1105 S. Washington Ave, Lansing, MI 48910.
Most CCFF events happening at The Robin are free, but please RSVP to reserve your spot, as space is limited. Learn more about all CCFF events happening at The Robin Theatre this year:
