Four piece band rooted in Grand Rapids, MI playing gangster rock music. What’s that? It’s honest rock n’ roll delivered with a hastily cadence. Far from ‘white boy blues’ and even further from ‘modern rock’
Jesse Ray and the Carolina Catfish is a 2015 Jammie award winning Rock-N-Roll band from sunny Grand Rapids, MI. Founded in the fall of 2013, Singer and guitar player Jesse Ray Carolina and Josh “Catfish” Worsham started a rockabilly-influenced duo that played numerous gigs in the Grand Rapids area as well as Kalamazoo and Rockford. They have also toured as far as New Orleans, Louisiana in the winter of 2014 shortly after releasing their debut album “Gravedigger”, winner of the “Best Roots/Revival Album” award by WYCE. Influenced by blues, punk, and rock-n-roll with a small dash country; hard hitting guitar, splitting harmonica, rambunctious drums, and crooning vocals will lay in the wake of this band’s performance. If you’re a fan of back to basics or “old school” rock-n-roll, this is a band you won’t want to miss.
We are a band of friends that get together to play, compose and perform great music. Our sound would be best called bluesy funk rock or funky blues rock. Our original music combines ideas and influences from a vastly diverse range of musical genres. Large influences from Dave Matthews and Jack White make up the sound that is Off the Ledge.
