Jes Kramer

Jes Kramer has been playing music around the Midwest for over a decade. Whether in a basement or an auditorium, her songs carry an intimacy that sticks to your ribs. Replacing the traditional singer-songwriter’s acoustic guitar with a stack of battery powered keyboards and a loop pedal, Kramer’s songs build up in front of your eyes, creating the right cushion to deliver deeply personal stories with just enough hope.

Sophiyah

Sophiyah E. has always been deeply intrigued by the natural beauty and rhythm of life. Born and raised in Detroit, MI the producer/singer/songwriter inspiration comes from the desire to uplift through frequencies of sound. Sophiyah’s love affair with piano and technology explores house, electronic, jazz and more! Elements from Sade, Erykah Badu and Tame Impala have influenced this electric-soul fused sound. With pure vocals and dreamy soundscapes she conveys an earthy warmth. Fall of 2017 she began an on going multi-media social awareness exhibition highlighting artist and the black culture. This birthed her first musical production series “Alignment”, an introspective narrative comprised of interviews and musical arrangements. Her journey continues as she shares her gift of music amongst diverse spaces like Detroit’s Music Hall Jazz Café, Cultivate Coffee and Tap House and even joining friends at SXSW music festival. Sophiyah’s appreciation and respect for the spirit keeps her deeply rooted in her community as well as traveling to encourage individuality, truth and peace. The healing power of art is a motivating force. Sophiyah is also program/creative coordinator of DCIPHER- Detroit based organization dedicated to advancing the community and music economy. She believes ascension can be achieved through any medium and anticipates growing through her transparency, practicing dimensions of love.
