Science of Cinema at Impression 5 (FREE)
The Capital City Film Festival (CCFF) is partnering with Impression 5 Science Center to present a FREE day full of FUN!
Dress up like your favorite movie character and join us as we explore the art and science of cinema. Ideal for family teamwork and independent explorers alike, films and activities are appropriate for all ages.

WHAT’S GOING ON:
– CCFF pop-up theater showing independent, short films selected for kids and families
– Hands-on activities inspired by the short films featured throughout the exhibit floors
– Saturday Morning Cereal Bar (10am-noon only): Colors, shapes, textures and flavors combine, so come hungry!
ALL FREE, ALL DAY. No RSVP necessary, but be sure to invite your friends! Science of Cinema is generously supported by PNC and the National Endowment for the Arts.

LOOKS tells the story of a gray lynx that doesn’t quite fit into a world of colourful animals. He’s being excluded and bullied by the coloured animals. On his search for acceptance and belonging he finds himself resorting to drastic measures… The film deals with social exlusion and bullying and aims at children from 4 to 10, showing them how important it is to stand up for victims of bullying.
The Beach Boy
A story of two star-crossed lovers in ancient Vietnam. Based on a traditional folk tale and adapted for animation in a style inspired by local Asian art styles.
Natural Attraction
NATURAL ATTRACTION shows a natural spectacle, turning a sparse, dry landscape into a fruitful place bearing new life. The interplay between sky and earth reminds of a sensual love act to express the dependency and perfect correlation of both elements.

Direction(s) is a dance video shot in Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland. Ittoqqortoormiit is one of the most isolated villages on Greenlandic east coast, a truly beautiful and wild place. In a such savage place, the movements of a passionate dancer will try to find a direction. A dance that wants to honour and merge with the spectacular nature of a remote and little-known land.
