Waves

*CONTENT WARNING: Self-Harm*
“Waves” follows Grace, a 17-year-old grappling with a profound, unaddressed grief that manifests as recurring, terrifying memories of her younger sister, Emma, before a tragic accident. Her parents, Louisa and Victoria, have opted for a radical medical procedure designed to erase Grace’s traumatic memory of the event. As Grace undergoes successive “treatments,” snippets of her memory, particularly of Emma, surface, creating confusion and fear. Simultaneously, the procedure takes a toll on her parents’ relationship, exposing the deep fissures caused by their differing approaches to grief and the ethics of memory erasure.
