Heartland Klezmorim
Heartland Klezmorim, Michigan’s only traditional klezmer band, began their musical journey in 2006 performing old-time klezmer music. Since that time, their repertoire has expanded to performing jazz interpretations of klezmer music, music from the Yiddish Theater and performing as a pit band for a vaudeville show. Heartland Klezmorim observes the traditions in klezmer music as well as adding a few new sounds. At this year’s Capital City Film Festival, the band will accompany Charlie Chaplin’s How to Make Movies as well as films by Man Ray and Art Clokey’s Gumbasia.
Future // Names
Anthony Fucciareli (Future) and Devon Kirby (Names) are a VJ and producer duo that combine creative multi genre DJing and original music with produced and improvised video accompaniment to deliver unique audio visual experiences. In addition to their artistic endeavors, Anthony and Devon also function as team members for the creative production group Space Dogg Collective where they enjoy envisioning and producing diverse and engaging events focused around music and dance. For this year’s Symphonic Cinema at CCFF, the duo plan to deliver a short story of love and learning told through the lens of a 1950’s short film blended with rich synths, engaging beats, and vivid video.
