The Moc Doc Workshop

The Capital City Film Festival is pleased to bring you a special filmmaking workshop just for kids! The workshop will be led by former CCFF featured filmmaker Katharine Mahalic.

Date: Saturday, April 9, 2016
Time: 1:00pm – 5:00pm (4 hours)
Location: Impression 5 Science Center (Note: This will take place during Science of Cinema)
Ages: 7-12 years old
Cost: $5 fee

The Moc Doc Workshop provides kids with a basic platform of what documentary filmmaking is and how to conduct a professional interview. Bring a costume or come dressed up as your favorite movie or book character that you want to pretend to be for a day!

The workshop consists of four parts:
1. Screening of the short documentary The Vacuum Kid
2. Introduction to basic terminology and small documentary clips
3. Demonstration of how to set up and shoot a documentary interview
4. Hands-on workshop; working as a team to shoot your own personal interview

Space is very limited for this workshop; click here to reserve your child’s spot. Please note that more information and details will be emailed to participants after registration.
