BOOMERANG! A Live Reading – Friday, April 10
A celebration of Black film with a live on-stage reading of Boomerang, blending performance, film clips, and director narration into a unique screening experience. Executive produced by Jahshua Smith, directed by Eric Huffman, and co-produced by Jasmine Hamilton-Wray.
The Mia Chinni Trio + Session – Saturday, April 11
The Mia Chinni Trio, featuring MSU Jazz students, will perform jazz standards from historically influential films, followed by a community jam where audience members can join in!
CCFF x Filmetry – Saturday, April 11
An annual collaboration pairing filmmakers and poets to create new works, with this year’s theme focused on climate change.

Midwest Experimental Moving Image – Friday, April 17
Discover experimental film and video from the Midwest at this Broad Underground screening, a collaboration between the MSU Broad Art Museum and MSU Film Studies Program.
Jake Blount’s Afrofuturist Salon – Saturday, April 18
Jake Blount is a skilled musician and scholar exploring the African roots of the banjo and Black influence on roots music and Americana. This event will feature live music, a talkback, and a panel discussion with Samuela Mouzaoir and Micah Ling.
